The British Arkell

By writing Barkell and Mr Arkell we have had the privilege of being connected to

Daniel Arkell's family in Britain. Through a New Zealand friend Alex Arkell, the head brewer of Arkell's Brewery in Swindon, Wiltshire, bought the book and wrote to us the following:

'Loved the book. I though it was charming and it is also a great summary of Daniel's life. I came out to Auckland in January to visit the old Gladstone Brewery with Brian, it is a fascinating old building... definitely based on a similar model to our Victorian brewery here in the U.K. The tall size can be used as a gravity system so you don't need as many pumps'.
